Siden introduktionen i 1958 har den været et symbol på rock'n'roll i alle afskygninger, og på trods af accellererende udvikling og nye teknologier, er der bare stadig noget magisk og særligt over det klangspektrum, som en AC-30 råder over. Den har således også været Sir Brian Mays tro følgesvend siden han startede, og det er også den, der er centrum for hans lyd.

Derfor er det også Brians måde at indstille sin AC-30 på, der har dannet grundlaget for den lyd, der kommer ud af AP-BM. Med en kombination af VOXs klassiske dyder og moderne teknologi, er det lykkedes at komme meget tæt på Brians signaturlyd. Det skyldes i særlig grad "Treble Booster"-indstillingen, der med det samme du hører den giver mening.

...Men det stopper langt fra der!

Udover grundlyden er der også blevet plads til en række backing-grooves, som f.eks. de ikoniske "We Will Rock You" klap/tramp, samt en række andre rytmer, der gør øvertimerne sjovere. Der er også hele tre effektmaskiner, så du kan krydre med f.eks. en "Brighton Rock" stereo delay med tap-tempo, der også fungerer til numre som "Now I'm Here".
